- Beer and jacket potato will cost £13 and a quarter bottle of wine £4.80
- Fish and chips priced at £8, a cup of tea £2 and cup of coffee £2.60
- Picnics and ‘excessive’ amounts of food to be banned from the sites
- Organisers say a family of four can buy refreshments for under £40
Olympics organisers have defended their food and drink prices after it emerged spectators will be charged more than £7 for a pint of beer – more than double the national average.
A 330ml bottle of Heineken beer, the only lager that can be served at the Games, will cost £4.20, the equivalent of £7.23 a pint. . . . (more)
