The US May Regret Libya and Iraq Assassinations

7 08 2014

Watching events unfold across the oil rich nations of the middle east we should remember men like Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and Libyan leader Mu`ammar al-Qadhafi had no tolerance for religious zealots running around in their countries. It seems Washington D.C. is awash with religious zealots these days.

They have brought ruin on the continent of Africa.

These come to mind –

My argument over 10 yrs ago. Saddam was one of the last Arab Nationalists who like Nasser had no toleration for Islamic fundis. But Cheney had to have the oil and military contracts it seems. However Arab nationalism also has little room for Berbers, Kurds, Christians, etc. Gaddafi made the Swiss mad, after they mad him mad. The Swiss apparently had dirt on Sarkozy. The Swiss must have made France go in for them. The rest is history. Can’t piss off the bankers.

oh, and see also, (expensive) book …
“Tiny Rowland – The Ugly Face of Neo-Colonialism in Africa” on uranium, royals
It was mentioned by Leuren Moret. It has a description on Amazon.

Not to understate that most of France’s interventions in Africa seem to be about uranium. There is a lot of gold, oil and other minerals too, being pulled out of Africa still, as you point to. One study reported much of Burkina’s gold disappeared into Switzerland, where there is a free-zone district (in Zurich and surely Geneva) dealing with gold and probably other “resources”. Just read that there is a place in the Zurich airport to store gold bullion, though this seems a separate matter and maybe why so many Middle Eastern Airlines fly in. The situation in Iraq was entirely predictable and so very sad. If you look at our latest news in Ongoing Saga 32 or wikipedia, you see that it’s not the first time that those people were persecuted and chased up that hill. Strangely everyone in the so-called Christian countries has stood by while the Middle East and Near East have been emptied of Christians through persecutions. Almost no one recalls even that there are Palestinian Christians. There is one theory about how some countries have the banks but no military (e.g. Switzerland) and other countries go to war for them. Historically one example is the bankers of Genoa, Italy and the Spanish military. Bankers from Genoa funded the discovery (invasion) of the Americas by Spain. The Gaddafi incident is interesting (and sad) in that he appeared entirely cooperative with the US, in fighting Al Quaeda. Shortly before his demise he had visited France with much fanfare and camped behind the Elysee Palace with his tent. But, the town of Geneva arrested his son and pregnant wife and kept them overnight in jail for allegedly hitting a maid. The son had a bad reputation for tearing up hotel rooms elsewhere. But, the maid may have simply wanted to ask for asylum as the Swiss are slow with the paperwork and asylum seekers get free apartments and just hang out for years while waiting. Up until a few years ago the Swiss paid for their apartments even after they were refused asylum and refused to go home. If there is no agreement with the country they cannot be forced to return home either. The Swiss gov was recently concerned if 30 dollars a month was enough of a stipend to buy toys for the asylum-seeking kids! Anyway, keeping the pregnant wife in jail overnight without bail was indeed outrageous by any standards of due process. Gaddafi took some Swiss workers hostage (I think this is how it went). The Swiss President went to Libya and apologized over the Geneva incident and paid money to get the hostages back. He was treated rudely and sorely embarrassed by Gaddafi and didn’t get the hostages (I don’t think). Gaddafi also went to the UN and suggested that Switzerland should be dismantled into its parts and the French part given to France, the Italian to Italy, the German to Germany. The Swiss suddenly recalled their indigenous Raetoromansh minority, which speak a unique language (sounds mix of Latin and German). The Swiss allegedly had something on Sarkozy from his time as a business lawyer which could make him lose the election, which he did anyway. I think it had to do with helping rich French people hide money in Switzerland and that the beans got spilled anyway too. Switzerland got the ransom money back that they paid to Gaddafi after his death, suggesting that they wanted the money back more than getting even. From all this I suspect that Switzerland has far more power than anyone knows. If Putin stays settled it will be only because of them, IMO. Most of Russia’s oil trades through Switzerland. Switzerland has only about 8 or 9 million people – smaller in population than some US states and even cities; much smaller than Paris or Tokyo. They have extremely low educational levels, requiring only 9 years of school. Most have 9 years plus 2 of training such as accounting. Not surprising that with little ed and plenty of wealth that many Swiss act like frat boys who never grew up. It’s why speeding tickets are based on income. Given the finding of high levels of cocaine in Zurich waste water, during weekdays, it isn’t reassuring either. The Swiss importance in propping up Hitler is cause for alarm too. It also has made me wonder if the US military is not the military for the bankers of the City of London. Empire always used the men of its colonies for war. After the Scottish Highlanders were cleared from their homes, the British sent them around the world as soldiers of empire. France used Africans as troops. There is some group of alleged Christians who hope to see more destruction in the Holy Land to hasten the end of the world and have teamed up with some Jews who want to hasten the coming of the Messiah – even though this goes against basic Judaeo-Christian ethics. Moniz of the US DOE is affiliated with the Cyprus Institute which has predicted a high possibility of a Fukushima or Chernobyl- like event occurring in the eastern US and much of Europe, which means either he expects his family to be safe in Brazil, since his wife is Japanese-Brazilian or he may be part of a death cult, although raised Catholic. He knows how dangerous nuclear is! He knows! How criminal is that! Perhaps there are fundamentalist devil worshippers at large in DC? Maybe what Orwell called the “money-god”? International mafia must have a huge hand in all of the world’s mess – Yakuza, Camorra, etc. Sorry to add this long comment in that the beauty of your post was its getting concisely to the point. But, I imagine that most English-speakers didn’t get many details on the Swiss-Gaddafi case. Anyone who owned an encyclopedia knew the outcome in Iraq, which means they surely knew and didn’t care. In passing, there is evidence that at least some of the so-called Jihadists in the area of Niger-Mali are simply trying to get justice about the uranium mining and may not be Al Qaeda at all, nor Jihadists. They are concerned about losing their land and water to uranium mining and getting nothing in return for it. Africa needed to unite and throw everyone out a long time again, but their officials seem too corrupt and sell out for a luxury car or airplane. And, if they don’t sell out then they can expect to be killed.

I have Gaddafi’s speech to the UN (just before US murdered him) where he calls out US for killing Kennedy. It is mostly banned on the internet.

Thanks for both references. Yes, you are right on the problem of transliteration of his name. It varies by language too. What I thought looked most interesting was the eldest son (I think the eldest) had prison training programs to turn Al Qaeda prisoners into mainstream, peaceful, Muslims. I think he was the heir apparent. Why would they destroy someone so cooperative? Certainly no one in their right minds would be a buddy-ally with the US (or France), after this latest series of killing off your buddies. For the first Gulf War I was so shocked that I literally fell off my stool. Saddam was such a well-known buddy to the US. I think there is a wiki article or I read something on Tiny Rowland before for free when you mentioned him.

it was a re-enactment of Panama war.
Build up by demonizing ally leader.
Libya went off the dollar and had to be punished.
And they committed ultimate crime … sharing oil wealth with citizenry.

But, Gaddafi was long demonized by the west and he was probably sharing more wealth earlier on than later. Early on he was trying to follow the mold of the national liberation leaders of the time (Non-Aligned Movement). Offspring partying in high price Geneva and Paris doesn’t sound very populist. The cost of real estate-hotels of any variety is astronomical in those places. He had managed to come back into favor with the west only recently. That’s where the weird comes in. It’s hard to say which was weirder – his sudden rise in favor or his abrupt fall. Pissing off the Swiss was the only thing which really changed. But, it probably didn’t play much outside of French and Swiss news. I don’t believe that the US is so all-powerful as most seem to believe, outside military. The US, itself, is being treated as a third world country – destructive mining and nuclear dump for the world now. As for Gaddafi, he was a bit of a fundi himself – he outlawed women jogging in shorts, according to a friend who lived there at the time. I think when people stay in power too long it becomes too corrupting. US Senate and Reps who stay in power so long is probably a large part of what is wrong with the US. It enables them to build a big patronage-nepotism-pork barrel network, i.e. a Political Machine. Each state is like a small country so the US Congress is just like a bunch of petty dictators. France is the same. Love him or hate him Obama will be gone soon. Even in Ancient Rome dictators were supposed to be temporary for emergency and not just go on and on. Maybe it’s just me but I never liked the concept of dictators and leaders who were in power too long even as a small child I didn’t like the idea of Franco or De Gaulle. You need to look at El Salvador and compare and contrast to Nicaragua. El Salvador is looking after people, environment, indigenous peoples – Nicaragua is using the exploitive resource exploitation, environmental and indigenous destruction model. They were both allies back in the 1980s, but are totally different. Resource-extraction model is dangerous, dirty and destructive. A lot of death, destruction and resentment came out of the US invasion of the Confederate States (that’s what it actually was though never called that) and even from the US invasion of Europe to remove Hitler. It took a long time to recover. Yet, no one doubts that freeing the slaves was just. Few notice that the US probably invaded for reasons other than freeing the slaves. No one doubts that WWII was a just war. WWII wasn’t necessary if the Swiss and Swedes could have been stopped from aiding Hitler – but no one remarks that. There was a lot of night-time fire bombing of German cities by the British that appears to have been unnecessary. I was totally opposed to the invasion of Iraq and to the removal of Gaddafi as they were the last bulwark against Al-Qaeda. But, if I had been a persecuted ethnic minority living there I might think differently. No one knows what the outcome will be in 70 years. It took until very recently for Germany to rebuild its cities from WWII – at least the old churches and other historic buildings. Have you read or heard testimony of the fire bombings? The fires spread through the basements where people were hiding. People who lived through it remain traumatized to this day and passed their trauma on to their kids. The London Blitz was very bad too. Sherman burned an unnecessary swath of what was it? From Atlanta to the sea? Just to demoralize the Confederacy. Had the Sandinistas paid attention to the environment and the needs of he indigenous peoples of the coast, then the Contras wouldn’t have had a toe-hold.

The best legacy of Gaddafi in my opinion is the vast water works he built to bring better farming to all quarters of the country. A world model of canals etc made to most modern standards.
Of course the US would have none of that.
The US dumped DU in the water system to wreck it and kill Libyans.
Pure evil.

I recalled that blaming Gaddafi for Lockerbie is what gave them the excuse to isolate him further starting in 1988, though they never liked him or other Non-Aligned countries. He accepted to pay damages for Lockerbie just to get back into the economic loop in 2003. I agree that destroying water is pure evil. Water is life. If you live in the US you need to be wondering why the US is destroying its own aquifers and water with both fracking and uranium mining. People just worry about fracking now because it got under the homes of some rich people. No one cares if the Savannah River is poisoned with international nuclear waste, nor uranium mining poisoning the Ogallala and other aquifers and rivers. On the 19th the fate of the Cheyenne River- Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary water is being determined by an NRC judge(s). The US gov allowed sale of the largest uranium mine (Wyoming) to Russia – like they are really going to clean it properly when Russia doesn’t clean its own up (neither does the US). However, the US drinking water standard for tritium is still 10x better than Russia (700 Bq/l vs. 7,000 Bq/l). Why will the US gov let a six cent penny stock company from Canada ruin its water in the Black Hills? It’s not clear who is involved but whoever it is doesn’t have any concern for the US either. If whatever rules the US is willing to destroy US water, would they do better in Iraq than in the US? I lean toward thinking that it is City of London bankers, but Wall Street and corrupt politicians look implicated – probably all the banking centers (London, NY, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Toronto, Hong Kong, Zurich). Hillary and Obama were mega-pushed by European media in a strange way – there were better candidates who got destroyed (John Edwards). Putin has a hand in destroying the world environment too – both within Russia and without. He just invests plenty of money in sophisticated and subtle English PR, that even the most intelligent can fall prey to. It might really literally be devil worshippers ruining the world- they are supposed to exist or they are all on drugs and don’t care. Electing a president who doesn’t care enough for his own health not to smoke (and whose mother died young) might have been a bad idea! If something doesn’t change soon we are all doomed. To blame America for everything evil is to play into the hands of those who want to make it a dumping ground for world nuclear waste. First America was made the dumping ground for Europe’s unwanted people and now its unwanted nuclear waste.

That was certainly an interesting water project. Thanks for pointing it out: “In a desertifying region already wracked by water conflict, Libya’s enormous aquatic reserves will be a large prize for whoever gets the upper hand in this struggle,” says Athanasiadis.” http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2011/may/27/libya-water-hidden-weapon
“NATO bombs the Great Man-Made River”, July 27, 2011 http://humanrightsinvestigations.org/2011/07/27/great-man-made-river-nato-bombs/
Maybe it can be a blog post later on. This may have got Gaddafi in trouble though because he threw out the South Korean contractor and because that is a non-renewable aquifer and using it up could put the water supply of neighboring countries at risk. So, it appeared a nice idea and certainly makes more sense than poisoning the water but has its downsides. Apparently even could impact the Nile. What he should have done was to save the money his offspring used in expensive hotels and done desalinization for the large coastal cities and save the non-renewable water for the inland people. How much was he doing the water project for the oil and gas industry? “They” say that the next wars will be about water and claim that is why Israel is so contested. But, the Israelis have Genie oil there to destroy the water. Mostly I think that Gaddafi was following the old model of his generation which didn’t work out so swell for Algeria either and is not environmentally sustainable. It is worth looking at Louisiana’s Edwin Edwards on this. He has a sane discourse and seems to have been responsible for it having good roads historically BUT he appears to have been protecting Rollins waste incinerator in BR and he fired the DEQ lady who was trying to make Rollins in Baton Rouge use its air filters. Worse, it turns out that Rollins was illegally burning radioactive waste (still unfiltered) for the US DOE in North Baton Rouge at this time (ca 1990 or 91). Eddie Edwards is known for being non-racist and yet his actions were poisoning a bunch of poor black people. He claims he wants everyone to have health care but these actions are why they need health care. I think if you understand Eddie Edwards you can understand a lot. I don’t want to depress you further, but I don’t fell very optimistic about the world’s future. Maybe the movers and shakers are all drunkards. They certainly make me want to drink, but that is a dangerous route. Thanks again for pointing out this interesting project!

Thanks. This is interesting. I was just thinking how grateful I am that you told me about Abe’s grandfather. I have a post set up to go involving him, but trying to understand what crap the NRC is up to is keeping me busy and tired me out totally. They have 40 well-paid workers writing BS “environmental impact” studies, while honest people are unemployed. The next Fukushima is just imminent. Infuriating. I find it strange that the Russians had to steal so much. It turns out that one of the Rosenberg’s was guilty. I guess the Americans stole too, with all of the Nazi scientists. Looks like it would be quicker to re-invent than steal and copy. It’s a shame that Russia has had such bad leaders. It seems such a nice, pretty, interesting place and is huge. The key to Putin is apparently the owner of Chelsea football. He seems to have made his fortune exploiting the poor indigenous Eskimos and built them a small wooden village in exchange. He was the last oligarch standing and got Putin his start in politics.

Everyone agrees that she was innocent. The most interesting thing though is that whatever electronics info that he passed on would have been in a window when the USSR was still sort of an ally to the US right at the very end of WWII or maybe even during WWII. Obviously the Rosenbergs would like to fight Hitler! Also the two British scientists who confessed to giving out real info and served short terms. It makes sense that world leaders are all in cahoots together. Oak Ridge or the Chicago lab is giving all sorts of nuclear tech to China and then they whine and complain about China. But, the working together is on the public web sites. Everything in Japan is now made in China and then they whine and complain about each other. The blacklisting that started in the 1950s included academics too which the article didn’t mention. I think blacklisting for jobs continues but they will never tell anyone, just make them feel like something’s wrong with them. Hard time being political working two jobs or starving.

Anyone reading this will get confused with topic switch to now to Westminster Abbey. I didn’t recall that I recalled that it was in DaVinci but I guess my subconscious did or we are psychically connected. It’s a beautiful floor isn’t it.
A non-conspiracy theory is that it is lovely and Kate has good taste. So, what does the Cosmati mean to you then? I have looked and looked now and the closest I got was a comment to the effect that the kings of the earth are the devil’s reps and that Rosemary’s baby was child of the devil. Often I think that the English monarchs are the fall-guy distraction; some days I think they are really the center of a conspiracy. What annoys me the most about Kate is that her ancestor Black Tom ran the New Model Army for Cromwell and then he flipped sides back to the Monarchy. So, I cannot see how her child should be allowed to be King, when her ancestor was involved in overthrow and beheading of England’s king. Black Tom was of Spanish origins, if I recall correctly and I think that was his name. In the end I read more on Scottish history than anything because the floor was completed by Edward Longshanks (Edward I?), the hammer of the Scots. They had invited him to arbitrate who would be king and so got themselves into trouble in that way. The Irish got invaded earlier on because they invited Strongbow (Robert de Claire, I think is the name) to help when two kings were fighting and then Henry II came in because he didn’t want Strongbow to have more power than he did. It reminded me of how sad and complicated Scottish and Irish history was. The 600s were nicer. How the Irish Saved Civilization is the nicest. Everything seemed nice until the coming of the Vikings and the Normans who were also viking origins. Many or most of the persecutions in Ireland were because Catholic Anglo-Normans (mostly Earls of Desmond-Geraldines-Fitzgeralds) revolted against the English Monarchs but it was the native Irish who suffered. Arthur Herman pointed in How the Scots invented the Modern World that many or all of the known clan names were actually feudal overlords (mostly Anglo-Norman) from elsewhere that didn’t care for their nameless underlings, which is why they didn’t mind at all selling them out in the Clearances. I re-read about the stealing of the Stone of Scone, the Stone of Destiny. You know that Scotland votes their independence or not on Sept. 18th but the voting by post started on the 28th of Aug. The SNP is an environmentalist, anti-nuclear, party. Unfortunately they hope to keep the Queen. Maybe that is nice since she is old and has ancestral roots in Scotland – though I doubt indigenous, but I think the joint monarchy is what caused much of the troubles. Some English counties ought to leave with them. It is interesting that most of the Celtic countries have never engaged in nuclear, including Austria as homeland to the Celts. But, then Norway and Denmark didn’t get nuclear either. It all remains very strange to me. I have read that there are lots of official devil worshipers these days or there were 10 years ago. I certainly like to blame the devil and evil for the woes of the world, though it has fallen out of fashion. One thing for sure is that except maybe Japan and Egypt, the Divine Right Monarch idea hasn’t gone over well for long, especially in the Nordic areas and in Africa. Even China had Mandate from Heaven and if you were bad you lost your Mandate.

My Rosemary’s Baby comment was a bit of a joke. But there is deep superstition in all of the royal motifs and symbols. My beef with Queen is is here uranium holdings and her ownership of BP. Plus Leuren Moret has a lot of things to say about monarchy.

Oh, forgot to say that the most interesting part of the Cosmati Floor is that it said that humans like to age 81. That was in the 1200s. Now the nuclear industry says 70 or even less when calculating risk! Plenty of people in the 1800s were living healthy into their 90s and even 100s and having kids very late. I know-have known plenty living healthy into the 97 to 104 and know of healthy people living much later. Have seen them looking decades younger than their age. Some of the kids, however, died of cancer young! The US gov stats from 1900 make it seem that radium, x-rays and nuclear industry is what is doing in everyone. There was little cancer back when before radium and x-rays and people living old. Even John Wesley went door to door begging money for the poor in his 80s and that was the 1700s. He was begging in sleet and rain I think and took cold and died. I have read another story of a 100 (maybe 101 or 102) year old lady who was perfectly healthy until one week before her death (ca 1900). She got caught in rain when going to visit someone and then died. She had 10 kids in her 30s, 40s, 50s, even during war and famine. Now women are infertile in their 20s. In the 1800s many women didn’t reach puberty until 19, though at some point in history it has been earlier.

The other thing which happened in the 600s is that the English Church (and maybe Irish and Scottish) allowed itself to go under the control of the Roman Catholic Church, which had more of a central authority-Vatican. Maybe that was the start of the problems. The differences in doing things comes out clearly in How the Irish Saved Civilization. The Irish monks wanted to treat the Pope as a brother and criticize him which didn’t go over well. And, of course, since the Vikings were outlaws, criminals and maybe dissenters who had been banished from Scandinavia their ways of doing things would be different from those who stayed. But, Sweden has been big into military-industrial complex for 100s of years. I was so surprised that they had made it all the way to Lake Constance along the border with Switzerland and Germany to bombard Constance in the 1600s! They have been big into nuclear and their nuclear plant right next to Copenhagen upset the nuclear free Danes for decades. I think that Norway forced Sellafield to reduce its emissions. Strange and complicated world. Oh, also forgot to say that it was nice to see that Jeff Rense and Dana had met each other, though the reasons why are no good. Yomiuri Shimatzu had an article tying the leaking San Onofre – whose defective generators were Japanese – to the dying sea lions.
By the way, I think it’s terrible unfair that the UK charges so much to visit many of these churches, like Westminster. In Ireland the churches and museums are free. In Scotland the museums and the churches are either free or not very costly.
