The Ghost of Christmas Past

These are the saddest of possible words:

“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”

Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,

Tinker and Evers and Chance.

Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,

Making a Giant hit into a double—

Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:

“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”

– – – Franklin P. Adams, 1910

Wow, the happiness and sheer exhausted joy that was in Cleveland last night and the whole series was just the best thing I’ve watched in years and years. After watching “Before the Flood” on Sunday, the Cubs with all their faith and hard work, brought a whole lot of refreshing hope into bunches of hearts, I’ll bet. Wouldn’t it be great if all those fans could be bused to Standing Rock for a few days? Yeah…

I have had almostno sleep! I get a Chicago station on my cable v for some reason and saw all the street parties.
I was so nervous during the rain outage …. I was sure it would be another miss.
But it wasn’t.
And it gives you hope for bigger situations ‘not being over’ …..
I love that song by Pearl Jam too.
