The Other Reason the US Wants to Attack Russia – The Yamal LNG Terminal

[LNG = Liquified Natural Gas]

Yamal LNG Project Trading Routes | Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.

[Shipping giant] MOL orders carriers for arctic transport from Yamal LNG project

“Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and its joint venture partner China Shipping (Group) Company have signed shipbuilding contracts with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) in Korea to build three ice class liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

The ice class carriers are intended for delivery of LNG from the Yamal LNG project under development in Russia to strategic ports in Asia and Europe. The carriers will have independent ice-breaking capabilities that enable them to sail in icy seas with maximum 2.1m ice thickness, said MOL. . . .”

They have a trade route to South America too – Russia’s largest independent gas producer completes first LNG delivery (has map)

It looks like the US will have to attack France too (sarcasm) –
China to provide Total with $15 billion for development of Yamal LNG plant

“French oil giant Total is to receive $15 billion from China to invest in a Russian oil and gas project on the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia. . . .”

That comment about France was supposed to be sarcastic –

First US LNG Delivery to Poland is a ‘Game’ With Suppliers
https://sputniknews.com/business/201706101054517585-us-lng-delivery-game-suppliers/

“The first US tanker with liquefied natural gas arrived in Poland earlier this week. In an interview with Radio Sputnik, Russian economist Sergey Agibalov called the gas supplies from the US a political move, which may have significant economic consequences.”

I used to think all these tankers were ridiculous, like,
how can these fuels be affordable after all the transport
and handling costs? Then we heard about the Nestle
water-tankers moving Great Lakes loads to China.
I wonder if robots are in charge.
The LNG ships and terminals have already been featured in
works of terror fiction as plum targets for devastating attack.
High-Speed-Rail seems like a bad idea by the same token.
Too easily disrupted by something thrown or blown on tracks.

Speaking of works of terrur … I heard a good idea that is probably true. Ruskies don’t need an old fashioned missile to attack USA. They may have pre-positioned a passle of them all ready in all sorts of warehouses around…. in truck containers. Sent in un-inspected cargo lots year ago … just waiting for a phone call trigger. ICBM worthless in that event.

With the completion of a new pipeline connecting Russian gas fields and China’s industrial heartland, the two countries have bypassed US control over the world’s energy markets, giving Moscow new flexibility in European negotiations, which Washington and Kiev have repeatedly attempted to frustrate.

Second to None: Arctic LNG-2 to Boost Russia’s Share in World Energy Market

Russia’s Novatek is pushing ahead with the Arctic LNG-2 project to considerably step up production of liquefied natural gas (LNG), enhancing the nation’s global market share to 20%. What’s more, the project has no analogues in the world.
