Hillary Clinton Stirring Up Trouble for Ireland, Making Threats

The Daily Mail [UK]

Ireland becomes Brexit battleground:
Good Friday Agreement could crumble over border hostilities warns Hillary Clinton as David Davis accuses Dublin of bowing to Sinn Fein pressure to adopt hard stance in negotiations

  • Former US secretary of state said a hard border would be an ‘enormous setback’
  • She said ‘we cannot allow Brexit to undermine the peace’ that people fought for
  • Comes as David Davis said border question being made more difficult by Ireland
  • He said that the government of Leo Varadkar was being influenced by Sinn Fein

Hillary Clinton has warned that the hand of history will be ‘heavy and unforgiving’ if Brexit is allowed to ‘undermine’ the Good Friday Agreement.

The former US secretary of state – whose husband Bill helped create the 1998 peace deal, which was signed 20 years ago today – said that reinstating a hard border would be an ‘enormous setback’ that could lead to a return to the ‘bad old days’.

Britain and the EU are yet to find a solution to the question of whether there will be a hard border between the UK and Ireland after Brexit.

Progress is due by the summer and failure strike an agreement acceptable to Dublin could scupper hopes of any deal at the crucial October summit. . . . (more)

undermine the peace that people fought for???
How about MI5 secret agents masquerading as IRA and creating all sorts of terror across the 9 counties?

And how about The English practicing a slow genocide against the Irish since Queen Elizabeth as recounted by Dublinmick?

And how about re-writing history to obliterate Irish influence?

She just cannot stop meddling in foreign elections! She isn’t an office holder anymore. Someone tell her.
And another thing … where’s Bill? He was the one who brokered the deal. Is he too sick or incompetent to appear in public?

“Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew has said the Good Friday Agreement is under threat from the Brexit agenda of the Tories and their DUP allies….” http://www.sinnfein.ie/contents/48935

“Former Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said Dublin could have to ‘play hard ball’ with Britain over Brexit.

Mr Ahern, who was one of the key figures behind the Good Friday Agreement, said Ireland should insist the UK stays closely aligned with the Republic after EU withdrawal.

Asked whether Ireland should take a tough stance in negotiations over cross-border trade and alignment, Mr Ahern told BBC2’s Newsnight: ‘I’m afraid the answer to that is we have to play hard ball.'”

For those unaware, Bertie is the shithead who ran Ireland on the run up to the financial crisis and had numerous pay to play scandals. He’s our equivalent of Clinton.

I guess the question is who benefits most from a soft border – the people or UK spies? Is that the issue to you? I’m really confused at what your concern is. I would think that Irish Catholics would like a soft border and the Protestants a hard one.

no … my question is what the hell Hillary/Blumenthal is doing butting in.
The Irish are capable of deciding their own affairs without help from the CIA, World Bank, Goldman Sachs or other American bullies,

Sinn Fein calling for a referendum on the unification of Ireland (see above), which sounds like a good idea, though it may not go the way they like. It might have to be county by county. Soft border is probably better.
The UK has long been genociding the Scots too. I think the genocide against indigenous peoples of Britain started with the arrival of Angles, Saxons, Vikings. Not popular to say but Elizabeth I was in a difficult position as France and/or Spain were using Ireland as a landing spot for invasion and then English protestants would be killed. So it was kill or be killed in many ways. That’s why we need separation of church and state/freedom of religion. I think that was probably more stirring up by the Catholic Anglo-Irish Geraldines and the poor indigenous Irish were the ones to suffer. One problem on the unification of Ireland is if one sees cultural continuity based on water or land. Now we think land, but historically it was water.

The point of the post was Hillary butting in.
A] If you read a few dozen e-mails from the archive, like around 3-11 … you cannot help but come across heaps of news headlines sent to her by her “brain”, Blumenthal.
They are her press clipping like an actress might expect fro her publicist.

B] You quickly get from skimming the mail, Hillary doesn’t know a whit about the issues at hand. She answers in monosylable mish mosh. She barely knows anything about the countries she is visiting. She gets 100% from Blumenthal.

C] Blumenthal also send long clips of this or that speech from Obama or other high official that she can quote extensively to make a point.

This Guardian piece reads exactly like a Blumenthal missive.
I doubt very much she wrote it herself… she just put her name on it as per orders. She is very dim on history or foreign affairs. Her e-mails show all this.

That’s what I thought, but then I got confused. Of course, we can also raise the question of who is Irish in all of this. Who has the right to decide? No one dares to do that, though. It would upend a lot of things all over the world. What if someone is 100% or 75% Irish American but the current leader of Ireland is only 50% Irish? How long did your ancestors have to be in Ireland to be Irish? People were kicked out of North Africa whose ancestors had been their for several hundred and even a thousand years or more, during the Algerian War, and then again by Islamicists.

I think this is interesting and relevant: “56 per cent of people in Northern Ireland – Catholic and Protestant – who voted Remain and want to maintain an open border;….”https://www.newstatesman.com/2018/03/sinn-fein-question-could-party-stop-hard-brexit

This is about the Republic – Note that Anti-treaty Sinn Féin, who wouldn’t swear allegeance to Crown, became Fianna Fáil: “Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are both products of civil war politics. On the 6th December 1921 (that I know that date off the top of my head and only had to google it to confirm that I was right says a lot) the British Government and representatives for the Irish Republic signed the Anglo-Irish treaty. If you want to know more click here: Anglo-Irish Treaty – Wikipedia.
This treaty achieved some of the aims of republicans but failed to achieve others. The main party during the War of Independence (Irish War of Independence – Wikipedia) Sinn Féin split into pro-treaty Sinn Féin and anti-treaty Sinn Féin. The major points of controversy regarding the treaty were:
* That the new state would be the Irish Free State instead of the Irish Republic.
* That the new Irish government would have to swear fealty to the British crown.
* That Northern Ireland would remain part of the United Kingdom.
The disagreements over the treaty became ugly very quickly and the newly formed state descended into Civil War very quickly. Irish Civil War – Wikipedia.
Pro-treaty Sinn Féin → Fine Gael. They argued that the treaty would serve as a stepping stone towards their other aims.
Anti-treaty Sinn Féin → Fianna Fáil. They argued that the treaty would make the British less likely to cease to the rest of the demands…..”
https://www.quora.com/What’s-the-difference-between-Fine-Gael-and-Fianna-Fail
Sam Maguire, who introduced Michael Collins to the IRB, was anti-treaty and ended up losing his pension and cast aside for that reason. I’m sure my family would have been anti-treaty and almost certain I am kin to Maguire.

I disagree … Hillary is meddling as per orders from banskers. Nothing to do with her ‘heritage’ or interest in Ireland.
The post was not about the SinnFein….
but interesting add on info for readers.

I was trying to recall the viewpoints of the various parties. I didn’t say if she had the right or not. I don’t recall her ethnicity except Wales and kin to Trump who is a Viking. But, some may question do we have a right to discuss these things even. We used to call it solidarity, but some think that Irish who moved to the UK are no longer Irish! I think Banksters don’t want Brexit, but could be wrong. I think everyone all over the world should exit to smaller more democratic countries, which cannot maintain large militaries.
