Go to National Weather Service(https://www.weather.gov/). Select “rivers, streams, and rainfall” above US map. You get NOAA – National Weather Service – Water.
https://water.weather.gov/ahps/ . From the drop down menu of water maps on the right, select “North Carolina.” A large map of only North Carolina, with all the water and river icons will appear. I saw Mark Sudith, from Hurricane track pull up this map. I can pull up the weather.gov page but, my screen freezes after selecting “rivers, streams, and rainfall.” Good Luck🍀

Duke Energy workers head home
Thanks to a local boat fleet, workers who were stranded at the Duke Energy Nuclear Plant got a chance to leave Tuesday.
The Winner Party Boat Fleet, based out of Carolina Beach, shuttled back-and-forth from the Southport area where the facility is located and picked up to 30 workers at a time. New workers being sent to the plant will stay for the next 4-5 days.

Duke Energy plant mostly inaccessible
Duke Energy’s nuclear plant in Brunswick County is now inaccessible due to flooding, which has left workers stranded.
Highways 87, 133 and 211 to get to the Southport facility are all mostly impassable, although a few have braved the elements and made it in and out. One worker, who wish to not be identified, said they are fine despite the circumstances and got food delivered via helicopter.
The worker estimates about 250 people are at the plant between maintenance, security and operations.
“We are all dirty and tired,” the worker said. “We lost county water to the site yesterday, but we just got it back.”
The worker made it clear the plant is safe despite the effects from Hurricane Florence. Reactors were shut down hours before hurricane-force winds hit the region.
A P-3 Orion aircraft flew over the plant Monday to check on any damage from overhead.
“Everything is operable and we are going through our procedures and checklist to ensure we are ready to start the reactors up when FEMA gives us the green light,” the worker said.

About plant access:
“Residents in Southport also experienced significant flooding, with many roads collapsing under the rushing water. Several bridges suffered significant damage and remain closed. They include the bridge in front of the Brunswick Nuclear Plant on Highway 133, and the Dutchman Creek bridge on N.C. 211. Both remain closed. ”

What’s up with the nuclear reactor in Brunswick, which is 30 miles south of Wilmington. I’m hearing things are not looking that great. If you have any additional information, can you please post your reply here and to this comment on the Flyingcuttlefish Picayune. This comment will be posted as about the 32nd comment. Duke Energy’s Brunswick nuclear plant in path of Hurricane Florence.
Excerpt: Brunswick is built at an elevation of 20 feet above sea level and designed to withstand a storm surge of 22 feet,…The temporary flood barriers, called “cliff edge barriers,” hint at the remote potential for catastrophe…The barriers are designed to repel a storm surge of 26 feet, said NRC spokesman Scott Burnell, citing documentation submitted by Duke Energy.
