Experts Say Rumors of “Radioactive Ash” from the Woolsey Fire Are Unsubstantiated
Residents worried Woolsey Fire smoke might carry hazardous chemicals
Santa Susana Field Laboratory (Wikipedia)
The Santa Susana Field Laboratory is a complex of industrial research and development facilities located on a 2,668-acre (1,080 ha)[1] portion of the Southern CaliforniaSimi Hills in Simi Valley, California. It was used mainly for the development and testing of liquid-propellant rocket engines for the United States space program from 1949 to 2006,[1] nuclear reactors from 1953 to 1980 and the operation of a U.S. government-sponsored liquid metals research center from 1966 to 1998.[2] The site is located approximately 7 miles (11 km) northwest from the community of Canoga Parkand approximately 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. Sage Ranch Park is adjacent on part of the northern boundary and the community of Bell Canyonalong the entire southern boundary.[3]Throughout the years, about ten low-power nuclear reactors operated at SSFL, in addition to several “critical facilities” that helped develop nuclear science and applications. At least four of the ten nuclear reactors had accidents during their operation. The reactors located on the grounds of SSFL were considered experimental, and therefore, had nocontainment structures. The site ceased research and development operations in 2006. The years of rocket testing, nuclear reactor testing, and liquid metal research have left the site “significantly contaminated”. Environmental cleanup is ongoing. In 2018, a 7-year-old girl (and hundreds of other children) living inSimi Valley died of neuroblastoma, prompting public urging to thoroughly clean up the site.[4]

It was so terrible to know that the Aliso Canyon gas-cloud
poisoning of the subdivision was but one of many old leaks
and seeps in the hills and coast.
Down in the old Camarillo Grove park in the 60’s, we used to
call it the “eggwater” park, because the drinking fountains
smelled of gas.
Later on,
“The Hellfighters”,”Chinatown” and “The Two Jakes” were
instructive about gas-oil bidness dangers.
My older cousins said they used to watch them launch
rockets from Santa Susana facility.
Later, I saw many experimental sky-shows out of Vandenberg.
Back in the day before T.O. annexed Newbury Park,
I once saw a big blade bulldozer go too steep and roll back,
the driver jumping off to the side, by the top of Conejo by 101.
Later years made me think the Ventura-Santa Barbara Fires
are fed by ground gas seeps as well as the vegetation.
I had a friend who led me to a couple of places where you
can get close to the restricted lands of the old Rocketdyne.
You are under surveillance, your license tag notated, when
you probe these places.
We once half-ass penetrated the Palisades PCH lots where
Oxy thought they could hide some drilling right there.

The tv aerial shots reminded me that these impossible habitat locations are facilitated by jumbo insurance agencies and their re-insurers. I understand that was all made possible by the Fed and low interest rates.
That should change, same for on-the-coast cheap land for housing. House land should be a mile back. Forest fire zone should be no-insurance for you, Bub zone.
These nice, dangerous spots should be for weekend cabins only (like they were before air-conditioning) and not for year round living.

….California’s wildfire narrative is one of repetition.
“We have these Santa Ana-like events happening in places that are appearing to catch people by surprise,” said Max Moritz, a cooperative extension wildfire specialist at UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School. “But they shouldn’t be catching people by surprise.”
“These are areas that have burned before,” he said. “And if we were to go back and do the wind mapping, we would find that at some intervals, these areas are prone to these north and northeasterly Santa Ana-like events….

Thank You MiningAwareness. TV News does such a poor job
of identifying just where they are standing, and Where the
Most important Choke points for escape are located.
Just as you guys say, and Coastal Commission tried to rule,
there ought not be habitation there.
Real Logistic, food and water and fuel considerations will
reduce many of these places to ghost towns, or, if blessed with
any good water, little cut-off sequestered quarantined villages
living on scratch.
The radiation seems to be inevitable, unchangeable, yet we

cut-off of the Aqueduct down south.
Estimated millions, in a cascade of failures,
Quake or Bomb or just a Demolition team takes out all major
difficult Lift Pump places, pipeline or open duct at best floodable
and road-blocking locations. that takes about an hour.
Now folks learn about it. Freeways are jammed, and rammed,
And shootouts and insanity happen. No Traffic Going Anywhere.
That is after only a few hours.
Now you have no real capability for repairs…”leaders” will
protect their Own, while uneducated, brave first responders will
heroically expend themselves while the satanic bosses laugh.
The Asymmetrical Vandalism Team takes out Key Power Lines,
in a most unrepairable way. More chaos.

8th November 2018 -ONGOING UPDATES – SANTA SUSANA FIELD LABORATORY/ROCKETDYNE ON FIRE
Extract:
Wind is blowing strong to the southwest carrying toxic smoke towards Ahmanson Ranch, the 101 Freeway, Liberty Canyon, Conejo Valley, Santa Monica Mountains and Malibu, potentially. This is a very dangerous event. All people who can smell the smoke from this fire should get themselves, their children, and pets inside and immediately close windows and use filtered air conditioning if possible. Masks should be worn and extreme care dealing with ash and embers. This is not a drill – ACT NOW
6:10 pm Friday Nov. 9, 2018 MICHAEL COLLINS/ENVIROREPORTER.COM UPDATE:
“Dr. Robert Dodge, President of Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles, shares the community’s concerns. “We know what substances are on the site and how hazardous they are. We’re talking about incredibly dangerous radionuclides and toxic chemicals such a trichloroethylene, perchlorate, dioxins and heavy metals. These toxic materials are in SSFL’s soil and vegetation, and when it burns and becomes airborne in smoke and ash, there is real possibility of heightened exposure for area residents.”
Dodge said protective measures recommended during any fire, such as staying indoors and wearing protective face masks, are even more important given the risks associated with SSFL’s contamination. Community members are organizing a campaign on social media to demand that DTSC release a public statement revealing the potential risks of exposure to SSFL contamination related to the fire.”

Do you know where that is? It’s not Santa Susana Field Lab and I’m having trouble placing the buildings. There is a twitter video which clearly shows the lab. Did you know that there is a fairly progressive Jewish University (Conservative) just next to Santa Susana and since 1947? Also Reagan Library. Those buildings look more like a university or something, but it’s not that one. The fire may be at Santa Susana Field but buildings are not. Netanyahu and his mignons hate the Conservative and Reform Jews.

In 2007 the state Department of Toxic Substances Control signed a consent order under which Boeing, NASA and the Department of Energy were supposed to complete a cleanup of the site by 2017. There are plans to demolish buildings and remediate contaminated soil and groundwater. But more than a decade later, the cleanup has not begun.”

Dr. Leuren Moret – ” The multiplier effect of chemicals and radiation mixing and burning is rarely mentioned. Dose is also unpredictable and cannot be estimated because of the complexibility of many toxins mixing and burning, unknown amounts of each released, and how they are mixed and transported in the atmosphere. I know from previous studies I made on emissions from San Onofre and other nuc plants with Dr. Ernest Sternglass, Dr. Jay Gould, Dr. Chris Busby, Dr. Janette Sherman, Dr. Alexey Yablokov (RU), and other rad specialists, that emissions from nuc plants and/or burning of contaminated materials, that they can be carried in many directions and altitudes eventually mixing globally in the atmosphere in one year. “

“Dr. Arjun Makhijani, President of the Institute for Energy & Environmental Research, estimated that the partial meltdown of the lab’s Sodium Reactor Experiment (SRE) in 1957, caused “the third largest release of iodine-131 in the history of nuclear power,” according to Gar Smith in his 2012 book Nuclear Roulette. But Makhijani was speaking in 2006, so now of course the SRE meltdown counts as the fourth largest radio-iodine release—after the triple meltdowns at Fukushima in Japan in 2011, Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986, and Windscale in England in 1957.”
