The LIVE CAM looks like they are trying out the whole width of the iffy spillway.
Oops! No they aren’t. They are using ¼ of the spillway and the rain makes it look like more width. Same old same old.
LIVE RADAR shows nearby scattered showers. But steady rain is expected tonight.
An inch of rain can send the water level into the danger zone.

These repairs to the aging dam should have been taken care of when the Main Spillway was reinstalled and water wasn’t flowing. They already knew in 2017 that the gates were cracked and needed repairs. Just watch the video by Milli Kay from 2017.

I could keep an eye 👀 on how far the water is from overtopping the Emergency Spillway on the Visitor’s center CAM. However, problems viewing lately have been spotty. Seems to me it’s because the water is so close to overtopping.

Ya know, I’m thinking the dam’s hill sides must be in danger of liquifying when water levels reach a certain height. Those aren’t huge hills either. Can you the enormous pressure those little hills have pushing on them from the close to 3.5 million acre-feet from Lake Oroville? The higher the water gets the more force exerted on those little hills.

My question is how long do they think they can cover this up? It’s one thing to tamper with the live cams and to do secretive work at night and to put a lid on the local commercial press …. but when it starts to go it will be beyond cover-upping….

I managed to get a framegrab of the water line at the top of the Emergency Spillway, from a far away shot. No closeup Emergency Spillway shots even though this is, by far, the most important location right now. The Visitor’s Center CAM is going haywire, especially when showing locations around the dam. I bet they know what their doing by not letting viewers watch the disaster unfold. If they we’re confident in their work, the CAM would be permanently trained on the Emergency Spillway waterline to calm public fears. They don’t care. The American taxpayer 🇺🇸 gave them the funds to repair the dam. So the American citizen should be able to see how well out tax dollars were utilized. The Top of Spillway CAM should also stay trained on the Emergency Spillway because everyone knows this is the most important location in the next 3-5 days.

The Emergency Spillway kicks in at 891 feet and we have 0.05 foot until that value is reached, which is 0.6 inch. In other words, a little over half an inch before overtopping the Emergency Spillway.

The CAM’s video facing the dam is very, very light, so you can’t really see the overtopping of the Emergency Spillway clearly. The haters might say the sun’s blazing into the CAM. I say, well check out the clear view from the opposite side with the same CAM. And………notice the thick, dark clouds.
