Yes, they are very poor at infrastructure. The town Ponce is also in a district of the same name. Maybe it is affluent enough to get restored more quickly than poorer parts.

Quakes look to be getting larger. Epicenters are pretty shallow. I’m still thinking magma moving below ground. The area is quite near the subduction zone.

I agree … they appear bigger. And there was a 2nd 5.8 quake south down in Dominica.
I guess the plate is moving….
I don’t see any news articles explaining things …..

This s scary – just now – looking at the RSOE MAP those little live-lert messages began popping up on the side. 2 or 3 for P.R. (4+Ms) and at the same time 2 or 3 for Alaska (2 & 3 M). All at the same time.
