It’s also a condo. This says it’s from 1972, though this may be for the buildings toward the front that look newer. That style looks more 1960s. It also is near a bunch of lakes or lagoons and even closer to a Canal Road, which probably used to be a canal and was filled in. I always worried about upkeep for these shared ownership properties and apparently was right. If people got out it’s because it was only 3 stories. I really like the concrete high-rises as they can be more peaceful than a house, but they apparently aren’t safe. They cost $250,000 so you could buy a house some places still for that price. The last hurricane might have been the last straw? This may be a neighboring building. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/17500-NW-68th-Ave-Apt-D2009_Miami-Gardens_FL_33015_M51861-71909

I wonder if the Florida coast is sagging/sinking due to just being a drained swamp.
So glad I don’t live in a condo … I would be freaked out.

My house is concrete but I just had tons or rehab work done due to hurricane damage. Insurance co. sends engineers to really assess what needs to be done so I think I am in good shape.
You’d think by now they could think up a no rust replacement product for that rusty rebar.

I thought you lived in a Condo. Glad it’s not, too! When I flew over Florida it looked more swampy than the swampland south of New Orleans does in the air. I don’t know if there is bedrock because I couldn’t understand how anyone could live there and not be swallowed up and sinkholes are a major problem – part due to phosphate mining.
They were able to anchor that hurricane house to something on the beach in Florida.

The collapse of a condominium tower in Surfside, Fla. has sparked fears and worry in high-rise residential buildings nationwide, including in Cincinnati.
