We are sure if there is a calamity on the west coast the feds will step right in and fix things like they recently did in Texas with the freeze. – FC




Quakes getting bigger on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge

We have been posting add on quakes in the comments section of our November post – 6.2M Quake on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Some big ones have popped up all down the line from Iceland to Patagonia.

Now this – 6.2M quake off Venezuela –

USGS: M 5.2 – Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge

And we are also watching Yellowstone.

2019 might be the year of the ‘big one’ or the year Yellowstone barfs at last or the year the Cascadia Subduction Zone bashes plates together once and for all. Top off your gas tanks, westerners. And fix up that guest room, easterners.

Seismic risk high for Indian-Australian plate and is now under major stress

On July 29, 2012, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck off Mexico’s Pacific coast close to the Guatemalan border, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The quake occurred at 6:22 am (12:22 GMT) at a depth of 35 kilometers (21 miles), and was located 28 kilometers (17 miles) south-southwest of Suchiate, Mexico, the USGS said.

We have seen a number of earthquakes around the Indian-Australian plate recently with strong patterns of Mag 6 earthquakes.

Australian and American researchers investigating forces exerted on the Indo-Australian tectonic plate have discovered that the considerable stresses being exerted on the plate could be leading to its breaking up. . . (more)
