Jury throws out government’s case—finds FBI agents fabricated a kidnapping threat against Michigan governor so they could pretend to be heroes by foiling a “crime” of their own creation.

FBI director’s use of entrapment is part of a strategy designed to sow public fear and render support for draconian anti-terrorist legislation.

For 95 years—from J Edgar Hoover to Christopher Wray—the FBI has lied, cheated, threatened, and even murdered Americans. Is it beyond reform?

Should we replace it with a national police force that protects instead of persecutes those it is supposed to serve?

The Michigan bombing case is just the latest, but it is surely not the first example, of the FBI overstepping legal and ethical boundaries to burnish its public image by creating Bad Guys to scare the public and blackmail Congress into passing ever larger budgets to fight domestic terrorism.

Ex-FBI chief gave $100K to Biden grandkid trust as he sought ‘future work’: Hunter emails

“Former FBI Director Louis Freeh gave $100,000 to a trust for two of President Biden’s grandchildren as he sought to pursue “some very good and profitable matters” with him, newly surfaced emails revealed Thursday.

Freeh apparently made the gift in April 2016 — while Biden was the outgoing vice president — and shortly before he told Biden’s son, Hunter, that “I would be delighted to do future work with you,” according to the emails.” (more)

New story making the rounds

Daily Mail [UK] Secret Service intervened in 2018 police investigation when Hunter Biden’s then girlfriend – his brother Beau’s widow Hallie – lost his gun after tossing it in a grocery store trash can because ‘she thought he was going to kill himself with it’
In October 2018, Hallie was searching through Hunter’s pick-up truck because she was ‘suspicious’
She found a .38 revolver which he’d bought days earlier at Starquest Shooters in Delaware

On the FBI and the Pulse Nightclub Massacre in Florica

27 03 2018

“. . . . Mateen’s father, Seddique Mateen, worked as an FBI informant for 11 years, up to June 2016, when Mateen attacked the nightclub. The prosecution knew this but sought to hide it, Salman’s [ his mother on trial] lawyers say.

The disclosure is significant because it sheds light on why the FBI may have chosen to close the assessments of Omar Mateen. FBI files provided to Salman’s defense lawyers suggest that agents consulted Mateen’s father, in his capacity as an informant, during the first assessment, raising questions about whether Seddique Mateen helped persuade FBI agents to close out an inquiry that could have prevented the deadly terrorist attack. It’s unclear whether the FBI consulted the elder Mateen during the second assessment as well.”

If this gets to be a wider story let’s hope some big city doesn’t suffer a terrur-attack that is quickly “solved” by the FBI.

FBI Agent Fleeing Massive Manhunt Warns “They’re All Insane”

27 05 2012

From European Union Times

A bizarre Foreign Ministry report circulating in the Kremlin today states that this Friday past (11 May) Russian Envoy Vladimir Vinokurov, the Consulate General of San Francisco, was approached near his hotel room during a visit to Los Angles by an agent of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identifying himself as Stephen Ivens [photo top right] who warned that he and a former FBI agent named Donald Sachtleben had uncovered evidence of an impending terror attack on US soil stating that those behind the attack were “all insane.”

. . . . . Even more bizarre about this case, this report continues, is that the retired FBI agent named Donald Sachtleben mentioned by Ivens, who also knew about this impending “plot,” was arrested within hours of Ivens disappearing and charged with trading child pornography.

Most important to note about Sachtleben was, aside from his being an over 25-year veteran of the FBI, he was a special agent bomb technician before retiring in 2008 who specialized in counterterrorism and bombing investigations and whose most important case was the 11 September 2001 attacks on New York City. . . .

Why are Eco and Animal Activists the Top Domestic Terrorism Threat?

by Will Potter

. . . . If you listen to the talking points of corporations, industry groups, and politicians, it is because of the property destruction of underground groups like the Animal Liberation Front and Earth Liberation Front. These groups have engaged in serious crimes that have cost corporations millions of dollars in damages and lost profits. Law enforcement has noted that these movements have not harmed a single human being, but they warn about the potential for future violence.

As I became immersed in this issue, though, I came to realize that the perceived threat of these movements is much bigger than burned SUVs, animals released from fur farms, or even the specter of future violence.

The terrorism rhetoric has expanded far beyond the militant fringes of these movements. Mainstream, nonviolent groups like Greenpeace, Peta, and the Humane Society have all been labeled “terrorists” by corporate PR campaigns and investigated as “terrorists” by the FBI. And new legislation being considered in Iowa and Minnesota doesn’t target underground groups, it criminalizes undercover investigators who document animal cruelty.

The common thread between such disparate groups is not the tactics they use; it is that they all, in their own ways, have effectively targeted corporate profits and created cultural change. As a bulletin to law enforcement by the Department of Homeland Security warned: “Attacks against corporations by animal rights extremists and eco-terrorists are costly to the targeted company and, over time, can undermine confidence in the economy.” . . .
