Hurricane watch issued for parts of Florida Gulf Coast; flood watch for South Florida

It was projected to hit the Gulf side’s Big Bend area on Thursday before passing over the northern part of the state and out into the Atlantic Ocean.A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are expected in the watch area, while a tropical storm watch means the same. The watches are typically issued 48 hours before the storm is expected to reach tropical storm-force winds, according to the hurricane center. . . .”
