Speaking of spying, seems John le Carre’s use of it to build his career as a novelist is hitting the skids.
The grandson of a MI6 spy is complaining that George Pendle was the spy in the Tailor in Panama who located the German pocket battleship which was sinking Allied shipping in 1940 from a Paraguay port, resulting in it being sunk.
Think there are going to be a slew of similar complaints of disclosing official secrets and stealing copyright

See that the artiche in the Daily Mail by the grandson of George Pentle has disappeared, apparently\ called for by MI6’s ‘C’ Richard Moore for fear that it would cause a slew of complaints by others, claiming to be related to agents mentioned by John le Carre in other novels.
The article about the forced scuttling of the pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee in December 1939 was just interesting, and no need of raising security concerns, but what if readers saw connections with other agents, ones who turned out to be Soviet spies like MI5’s Assistant Director Peter Wright?
Would explain another Director of SIS Dearborn being so critical of the hurried novelist.
