It’s not like it’s an either or… It could be dead pigs, manure and a nuclear accident. It’s like smoke. Nuclear was supposed to replace smog; chimneys and stinky air pollution. Instead we get to breathe radiation from NPS and unfiltered smoke, smog, etc.! Just noticed that they have had sinkhole issues not far from Brunswick Nuclear Power Station at Boiling Springs Lakes https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CZIC-gb609-2-b64-1983/html/CZIC-gb609-2-b64-1983.htm In their seismic document it discusses being underlain by limestone, if I recall correctly. I’m trying to still figure out how the utility apparently agrees that it could flood way higher than the site but can’t figure out what they have or could do about it! A flood wall?

Any bets on what DOE head and former Tex gov Rick Perry’s doing in Moscow? He’s the one who privatized Texas rad waste dump and made Waste Control Specialists.

I forgot rats… There was an article written about a hurricane in southwestern (Cameron) Louisiana – I think it was Audrey about people sitting on rooftops and rats jumping up with them…

Trouble is always figuring out where the storm will and won’t go. Apparently they are no better at predictions than over 50 years ago. Same thing for rain.

Maybe they are sleeping on inflatable beds-air mattresses? Just saw that USG just diverted a ton of FEMA money to help pay $132 a night to ICE for over 3000 illegals for almost a year. Something like 9.8 million $. That ($132) sounds like it would pay for a fairly nice hotel for a family of hurricane refugees – like Holiday Inn Express or Marriott. With all of the Patels having taken over it’s well nigh impossible to find a decent hotel at any price in the USA.

what happens is the hotels all get booked up within a certain radius….. plus in SE states camping is a big activity. But hilly area with lots of creeks and rivers makes that a super bad idea. Trees blow over.
I read they had very wet summer so the soil is all saturated in advance of the hurricane. Not safe to be outdoors anywhere.
I wonder if schools used as shelters are above sea-level.

Zero Hedge – “A Life Changing Event”: 3 Million To Lose Power, Hog Farmers Panic As Hurricane Set To Smash Into Coast
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-09-12/life-changing-event-3-million-lose-power-hog-farmers-panic-hurricane-set-smash

“The worst case scenario for North Carolina, with its 2,100 hog farms and 9 million pigs and hogs, would be to cripple the local hog farming industry. The potential devastation for hog farmers would be a deja vu to what happened after Hurricane Floyd struck in 1999. The result was the destruction of many farms, including flooding, dead livestock and waste leaking into waterways. ”

“… The waste lagoons in North Carolina have often been a point of contention for environmentalists, as there are more than 4,000 of them in the state and they each often hold “millions of gallons” of manure. In 1999, six lagoons saw breaches, which resulted in waste moving into the water supply. The state ended up buying 43 farms, including 100 lagoons that were located in flood planes.”

Makes it seem iike there is no way around a major nuke-plent
incident! Melt-down! I’ve been reading Prophets last few days,
and Chronicles…disobedience gains correction for the disobedient.

Leviticus 11-
— 7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.-

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
Yucky!

Florence’s Devastation: Among the Nation’s Top 10 Costliest Disasters at $44 Billion, Analysts Say – video
https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/2018-09-18-florence-flooding-north-south-carolina-virginia

(scroll down) –
“Floods prevent environmental inspections:
Conditions have prevented environmental inspectors from investigating and collecting samples from the farms and industrial sites in eastern North Carolina devastated by the storm. Reports indicate that at least one hog lagoon in Duplin County was breached, spilling feces and urine. Four other lagoons reportedly have some structural damage, 17 were flooded by nearby rivers and 21 were so full they overflowed.”

SO … the EPA has no access to drones or planes? Poor, poor EPA just cannot check on those 9 million hogs and give any account for where they are or how many are dead, floating around.
I guess they never heard that millions of dead hogs floating around create a HEALTH HAZARD!

EPA Region 4
includes the Carolinas.
Let’s see what the big brains at EPA Region 4 are up to in this 9-million at-risk hogs and millions of gallons of toxic coal ash waste and gobs of nuclear waste emergency zone.

“Region 4: The EPA Region 4 Regional Emergency Operations Center is activated. It is currently operating 12-hours daily. Region 4 has approximately 44 personnel currently involved in emergency response efforts. ”
https://response.epa.gov/site/site_profile.aspx?site_id=13923

So … bloated EPA – with over $8 billion dollar budget – cannot man a 24/7 desk to cope with 9 million hogs in flimsy, not-hurricane-proof sheds, possibly dead and floating every which way?
Really?

They have dedicated a whopping 44 member team – who cannot get out and visit 1 hog farm by boat or pane or drone fly-over. 44 EPA stooges cannot figure out how to find 9 million hogs in NC.

Interesting fact: “EPA has not received a request for assistance from the state (NC).”

NC and SC residents need to bookmark this EPA “Florence response” page:

… and note the head guy at REGION 4 is Trey Glenn

“DEQ said Sunday that 32 waste lagoons at 27 swine operations were discharging into floodwaters. Lagoons at five facilities showed structural damage, although DEQ said that means the lagoon may or may not be discharging. Another seven facilities with nine lagoons were inundated, with water surrounding and flowing into the lagoons and 16 facilities with 18 lagoons were full and likely to spill over. As many as 31 facilities, or 39 lagoons, were 3 inches or less from being full.”

News reports are sticking with this 5,500 hogs lost figure. We were wrong thinking the number would climb. It turns out they moved a lot of hogs to higher ground in the risky areas.
This article has all the details – –

Hurricane Florence affects North Carolina agriculture
http://www.hpj.com/carrico/hurricane-florence-affects-north-carolina-agriculture/article_6dbac9ee-c1a5-11e8-bd1e-079623a61bcf.html

“Brandon Warren, president of the North Carolina Pork Council and a hog farmer, said farmers and others in the pork industry worked together to take precautions to protect farms, animals and the environment. “The preparations for the hurricane began long before the few days before the storm. Our farmers take hurricane threats extremely seriously,” Warren said.

In some cases, hogs were moved to higher ground in known flood-prone areas. Feed supplies were put in place, hog farmers assessed lagoon levels and secured generators and fuel supplies for power outages.”

“Dozens of hog-waste lagoons overflowed, dispensing from one cesspool alone 2.2 million gallons of fecal sludge rife with pathogens such as salmonella.

Environmentalists fear that the health of 160,000 people could be at risk. ”

Plus – I posted a new item on survivors’ misery here –
https://flyingcuttlefish.wordpress.com/2018/10/18/trapped/

These poor people with nowhere else to have returned to ruined homes without water or electricity and little food to pick through their meager “stuff” and wait for help that isn’t going to come.
I think the state wants them to get so miserable they voluntarily disappear. But that doesn’t happen.
People stick with their homes.

The media is melting away from the area.
